Bethan’s reading group in Wallsend wrote these poems. The following poems were put together by a creative writing group that met (pre Covid) weekly at Wallsend Memorial Hall. The group has been meeting for many years and is led by the fabulous Rita Goodhart. Each week participants practice different writing styles and share in and support each other’s work. We are very happy to have been part of this group in late 2019 and early 2020.

The poems included here are a selection from those people who wished to share their work publicly. They were produced after discussions on Brexit and the future and following a reading of Neetha Kunaratnam’s poem, “Brexit means Breakfast". Poetry in t ext
